Timber Grab Gantry Crane

Weihua developed a hydraulic timber grab Gantry Crane for a Paper Mill in Belarus.

This crane is tailor-made for Belarusian customers and is mainly used for unloading of logs. When the timber train enters the station, it is necessary to transfer the logs to the designated location within a limited time. The customer initially used the Truck Crane as the preferred solution, but after seeing the timber grab gantry crane designed by our company, they suddenly became cheerful and resolutely chose the scheme.

This gantry crane has the typical structure of a European standard gantry crane. It creatively applies rigid guides and hydraulic grabs to flexible wire rope winding lifting mechanisms, which also becomes a big highlight. The lifting mechanism makes up for the shortcomings of pure steel wire rope winding mechanism with insufficient flexibility and rigidity, and pure rigid lifting mechanism with excessive rigidity and insufficient flexibility. It can open and close the grab bucket, rotate and lift, and can resist large side loads and impacts. Allowing the cargo to have a large center of gravity deviation can minimize the swing of the cargo and achieve rapid positioning while reducing the rigid impact of the mechanism.

In addition, the crane also has a follow-up driver's cab with a wide field of vision; an integrated electro-hydraulic design that facilitates centralized control; a hydraulic rotary drive with built-in overload protection to achieve stepless speed regulation of the rotary mechanism and rotation of the hydraulic grab Features.
